Rafael Monroy

 

I am a computer scientist, amateur photographer and art passionate. Since July 2019, I work at ZEISS Vision Care as a Computer Vision Engineer.

In 2011 I received a M.Sc. degree in Computer Science with a specialization in Visual Computing from ETH Zürich. I also hold a B.Sc. degree in Biomedical Engineering from the Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City.

In 2017 I joined Trinity College Dublin (TCD), as a Research Assistant within the V-SENSE project. My research at TCD was focused on Augmented Reality, particularly applied to mobile devices. Before joining TCD, I worked for nearly five years at Fraunhofer IGD as part of the Cultural Heritage Digitization group, where we developed a system named CultLab3D that automatically scans museum objects. Previous to that, during my master studies, I worked at Disney Research Zürich on several projects related to Stereoscopic 3D video processing.
